Talladega College has raised more than $360,000 for its trip to Washington to march in President-elect Donald Trump's inaugural parade next Friday after the Alabama institution's president came under fire for approving the appearance.
The GoFundMe page for the Cotton State's oldest historically black liberal arts college showed that $362,976 had been raised as of Saturday evening.

The college initially had sought to raise $75,000 for the trip, President Billy Hawkins told "The O'Reilly Factor" on Fox News on Thursday.
Recent contributions ranged from $10 to $180, coming from around the country, with comments praising Talladega for its "courageous decision" and for exemplifying "the American spirit."
Hawkins said earlier Thursday that the Talladega College Marching Tornadoes would join as many as 40 groups in the Jan. 20 parade.
The school had come under heavy attack for accepting the invitation from the Presidential Inaugural Committee — even leading to dueling petitions on Change.org.
